Instructional Idea - 11/19/2014

During Daily 5, I add writing notebooks every couple of weeks.  The kids can write in the notebooks- so far I have a “I Love” notebook, where they write about things they love.  An “All About Me” where they write about themselves, and a “Car” book, and the boys (and girls too) love drawing pictures of cars and trucks and writing stories about them.  I haven’t used the other notebook ideas included with this Teachers Pay Teachers product, only $2- I am gradually going to introduce a new notebook every couple of weeks..  You can make your own labels too, or purchase this one.

Inspirational Quote - 11/19/2014

Yes, our classrooms are like gardens, aren't they?  All kinds of different flowers growing, all at different rates.  Some are blooming, some aren't. Some bloom at different times of the year...and yes there will be hardships, students that challenge us, but they still make our garden.. We have to accept our students, be patient with them, and find those ways to inspire our "thorns."
